I'M BURNING UP

Hey peeps. Okay so it's official the summer is over. It's time to get back in the groove of things and finish out the rest of the three months strong. Because a new year is coming many peeps are getting the urge to make that last minute transformation before the near year dawns. And I think that's great...

Last week I was working out with two of my girlfriends. They are determined to get their bodies in a sexy backless dress come New Years. As we were doing our exercises they started to feel the burn. Now I wanted to tell them that there was their lactic acid threshold but my memory knew better. I knew it was a depletion of something else and not a buildup of latic acid. Later on that night I reviewed my personal training book and my suspension was right.
When you are lifting weights or working out to the max you begin to feel a burning sensation in your muscles. Many in the fitness world have mistakenly referred to this as lactic acid but it's actually due to an insuffienct amount of oxygen in your tissue not acid pain.

Lactic acid is a good guy because it is a buffer for the hydrogen by-product of muscle that has become ischemic ( lacking oxygen) Muscle ischemia kinda feels like you placed a rubber back on the end of your finger...NUMB AS HELL!!!

During intense workout sessions ischemia occurs and the excess hydrogen builds up which leads to a drop in PH levels which can lead to muscle fatigue. The lactic acid that is produced can be transferred to a neighboring cell that is not ischemic and can be oxidized to yield additional energy.

So next time you hear someone blame it on the lactic acid let em know otherwise..

Speaking of burn...did any of you see burn after reading...I saw it this weekend with my cousin..what a twisted freaking movie...lmao!!!
HAPPY TUESDAY/MONDAY YA'LL!!!
